Macrozoobenthos

Macrozoobenthos are important components in the ecosystem. They are the largest secondary producers in the systems food web and in turn a major food source for birds, fish and other invertebrate species. Some can alter their surrounding environment by building reefs, trapping sediment or bioturbation.
