My PhD, supervised by Pierre Offre, aims at characterizing the physiological diversity and ecological
niche of JTB255 bacteria in marine sediments. The project is divided into 2 parts:

  • Identification of substrates supporting the growth of Woeseia oceani XK5
  • Comparison of the gene repertoire and physiology of members of Woeseiales

We also have 2 collaborations running. One with Utrecht University on the Gulf of Mexico cruise 2020 and the other with NIOZ Yerseke on local coastal sediments, where we analyze the bacterial community of the sediments sampled.
