My PhD supervised by Pierre Offre aims at characterizing the physiological diversity and ecological niche of JTB255 bacteria in marine sediments. The project is divided into 4 parts:

  • Identification of protein sources supporting the growth of Woeseia oceani XK5
  • Comparison of the gene repertoire and physiology of members of Woeseiales
  • Investigation fo potential host associations between Woeseiales and deposit feeders
  • Investigation of biogeography and taxa-environment associations
