The inbetween

The net bacterial production is half of the primary production. This means that all carbon originating from primary production directly (excretion) or indirectly (mortality, feces) is first taken up by bacteria before it is available as food for the consumers. The bacterial production follows the spatial distributions of the primary production.

New website for NIOZ

By answering 10 questions you can help us enormously! It will take you no longer than 4 minutes. You can win a NIOZ t-shirt and a book voucher to the value of EUR 25 if you fill in the questions.

Thank you for your help!
