SedWay
Safeguarding the natural sedimentary processes in the Wadden Sea for biodiversity and people
The future of the Wadden Sea depends on maintaining largely undisturbed natural processes that support biodiversity and ecosystem services. Climate change, human pressure, pollution, and biodiversity loss increasingly threaten these processes. SedWay brings researchers and practitioners together to understand how geomorphological, ecological, and biodiversity processes interact and how human activities affect them. Using a socio-ecological framework, SedWay will deliver a co-designed GIS-based decision support system to guide restoration and nature-based management across all tidal basins.
