Deleveloping a new archaeal model system to shed light on marine symbioses part II
In this collaborative project, we use microscopy techniques to study the cell biology and cytokinesis of Ignococcus hospotalis, the host of the DPANN symbiont Nanoarchaeeum equitans, that has originally been isolated by Harald Huber (Regensburg University) from a hydrothermal vent (Kolbeinsey Ridge) off the cost of Iceland.
