Welcome home, RV Anna Weber-van Bosse

At the threshold of the North Sea, the RV Wim Wolff and RV Adriaen Coenen welcomed the largest research vessel this weekend. For the first time, the fully renewed Dutch research fleet is now together in the NIOZ harbour on Texel!

After an exciting and tiring first journey, the brand-new Anna Weber-van Bosse arrived in the NIOZ harbour last weekend. Upon arrival she was welcomed by the RV Wim Wolff and RV Adriaen Coenen. During the voyage from Vigo to Texel, the ship and crew had to deal with challenging circumstances. Especially in the Bay of Biscay, they had to endure strong winds and high waves. A good and successful test! After a short stay in our harbour, the ship and crew will continue their journey to Norway, where some final tests are executed.

The official christening of the Anna Weber-van Bosse will be on the 12th of March. Subsequently, the ship and crew will embark on their first mission in April.
