NMF Office

The fleet office at NMF manages all aspects of the operation of the three research vessels, from maintenance and certification of both crew and vessels, as well as research cruise planning, crew planning, and logistics.

The NMF Office is the point of contact for:

  • Support or questions on using the Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) tool;
  • Obtaining permits needed for the planned research, such as diplomatic clearances that are mandatory for scientists wishing to sample within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of third countries;
  • Travel arrangements and certification of science parties (seafarers’ medicals and safety training) and crew;
  • Access to the European research fleet operated by our partners in the Ocean Facilities Exchange Group (OFEG) – only for Netherlands-based researchers;
  • International research vessel operators' platforms (ERVO, IRSO) and project;
  • Fleet operation and management matters;
