Helping our researchers share their work and findings with the rest of the world, that's what drives me. Whether it's inspiring kids with the wonders of the ocean, starting a conversation with your neighbours about the importance of the seas for our climate or advising policymakers on measures to mitigate the effects of sea level rise. I think the key to effective science communication is making it a two way street, which is why I train our researchers not only how to tell their story, but also to listen and engage in a dialogue with their audience.
