My PhD research explores how the Scheldt Estuary has changed over centuries by combining historical records with numerical modeling. By understanding how morphology and hydrodynamic patterns evolved in the past, I aim to learn lessons that can guide today’s and future coastal management. These insights can help us make informed decisions, cope with rising sea levels, and reduce flood risks from extreme events.
