Archaea represent a distinct domain of life and exhibit remarkable metabolic and ecological diversity. Their viruses, which display great morphological and genetic novelty, play critical roles in shaping archaeal communities and global biogeochemical cycles. My project employs metagenomics to explore the largely uncharted archaeal virosphere, focusing on novel viral lineages and related mobile genetic elements associated with diverse archaeal hosts.
