To better understand the Earth's climate, I am researching how water mixes in the ocean. Mixing of water influences the ocean its heat and carbon uptake that directly impacts our cimate. Mixing also impacts the ocean density distribution and consequently ocean circulation. For example the Atlantic Meriodional Overturning Circulation that heavily impacts global climate. Only by understanding these mixing processes in detail, we can properly simulate their impact in Climate models that provide more accurate future climate projections.
