dr. ir. Mariet Sauerwein
Postdoc

Mariet studied industrial design engineering at the TU Delft and Royal academy of Art, the Hague. In 2020 she received her PhD from TU Delft, during which she explored the use of 3D printing for design in a circular economy. After this, she worked at the AMS institute on the development of and applications for biobased materials.
At NIOZ, she works in the VICI project of Tjisse van der Heide on the integration of design and ecology for coastal ecosystem restoration. In this project, temporal emergent trait-based mimics will be developed to support habitat-forming species to restore their habitat and become self-sufficient again.
