I am interested in how movements in the water affect life in the deep sea. A change in the density of the water causes currents, which can swirl around or move in one direction like waves. The differences in the gravitational pull of the sun and moon are a major cause of these oscillations and internal waves in ocean water. When water containing nutrients reaches the ocean floor in this way, it affects life in the deep sea. I have discovered that the sun and moon even enable plankton to live at depths where no light rays penetrate.
