Aleksandr Fedorov

PhD student

Aleksandr M. Fedorov is an oceanographer specializing in ocean–atmosphere interaction, hydrometeorological data analysis, and large-scale circulation in the Nordic Seas and the Subpolar Gyre. He is a PhD candidate at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research and Utrecht University (since 2022), where his research focuses on the influence of Greenland tip-jet events on the interior of the Irminger Sea. His field experience includes CTD operations, water sampling, mooring operations, and leadership responsibilities during the OSNAP 2024 cruise. He previously worked as an engineer at the Arctic Antarctic Research Institute and as a trainee and junior researcher at the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Centre in Saint-Petersburg. He has authored 17 peer-reviewed publications.
