Ioana Stanca

I am a PhD student part of the ViBRANT-Sea Advanced ERC Grant project. My work focuses on microbial-plastic interactions with a particular focus on the biodegradability of bioplastics in natural marine environments. By combining physiological experiments via respirometry approaches, fluorescence microscopy techniques, and molecular approaches, I am exploring the "Plastisphere" ecosystem and the impacts of environmental factors, such as temperature, on plastic biodegradability.
