Wadden Sea species

The Wadden Sea is a hotspot of biodiversity. Young fish like sole and plaice grow up here and lots of animals are found on the mud flats, such as worms, shrimps and crabs.  The wealth of local species is crucial for migratory birds making a stopover in the area. Learn more about these species in our special wadden series.
