I am a Ph.D. student in the Physics Department of the NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (Texel) since 2009.
My supervisors are Leo Maas, Hans van Haren and Theo Gerkema.
I work on a project entitled "Observational study of the equatorial boundary layer", that involves both theoretical and observational aspects of low latitudes ocean dynamics.
One of the main goals of my study is to investigate the role of internal waves in the equatorial mean flow as well as in equatorial mixing properties, but I am very interested in geophysical fluid dynamics in general.
I studied Physics at Padua and then at Trieste University (Italy), where I graduated in 2009 with Alessandro Crise (OGS, Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale, Trieste, Italy) with a thesis on space and time characterization of physical and biochimical parameters in the Adriatic Sea using recent and historical datasets.
