Development of quick and reliable sample processing and analytical methods for geological applications.
Elemental/calcium ratios in forams and corals to reconstruct climate changes.
Anthropogenic and natural radionuclides for dating of sediments.
Maintainance of a sector field ICPMS (Element-2, ThermoFinnegan). Method development and routine analysis of traps/sediment/corals/forams. Quality control of data. Automatization of data-processing with Program R.
Lab coordinator of our GEO-labs. Projectleader of the renovation of the labs and offices. The acquisition (after a comparison study with standards) of instruments e.g. HR-ICP-MS, gamma and alpha spectrometry, particle size apparatus. Guiding students (HLO and MLO) and analysts.

Specialist in short living low radio-active isotopes like lead-210 (alpha spectrometry) and radium-226, cesium-137 (gamma spectrometry). Quality control of data. Dating of sediment via modelling isotope profiles in Excel.
Specialist in grain size measurements (Coulter
LS230), specific surface area (Micromeritcs Tristar) and scanning electron microscope.
Involved in quantitative XRF-corescanner of wet sediment cores.
Participation with sea going expeditions (ENAM94, OMEX95, Teluk Banten 1996,1998, 1999), Red river delta (2000) en Kalimantan (2006).
