64PE365 - Dag 7

Finally, the sun showed up on the 7th day of the cruise. The day started at a first station near the island of Terschelling, where we were able to get mobile phone signal. Then around 9h00 the pole CTD was fixed and we sailed towards the north to continue with the second transect of the cruise.

We enjoyed a complete day of sun, blue sky and calm wind and sea conditions. The morning was cold and a fresh breeze was blowing, but as the day went by, the wind strength decreased, reaching calm conditions in the afternoon. It was the perfect day to do ocean colour measurements.

Unfortunately, the afternoon stations did not show the sediment concentrations expected, so tomorrow we are going back to the area near Terschelling, where higher sediment concentrations were found.
In the meantime, some are getting ready for some night fishing.
