GEO is responsible for the national facility for XRF core scanning, and it supports sediment trap and seismic profiling studies. A wide variety of analyses can be performed at the department. GEO maintains a repository of sediment cores. We administer this repository being also the main provider of cores. In cooperation with the Data Management Group an online archive of the stored cores has been developed, to give a detailed inventory of the cores, their status and the analyses, which have been performed. Furthermore the XRF CoreScanner delivers photographs of the cores and the inventory will be updated with these detailed images in the near future. Explore this CoreBase!
