Description of adult
female: the adult female Acartia
clausi is characterised by 4 pairs of long swimming feet and a short 5th
one. The forebody consists of 5 segments. The urosome has 2 segments plus the telson.
The first urosome segment is ventrally swollen, showing the genital opening as
a dark. The furca carries 5 pairs of setae.
The image on the left shows a spermatophore adhering to the
urosome.
