ZeeInzicht

More than 50% of Dutch nature is located under water in the North Sea and the Wadden Sea, but what does it really look like? What animals live in our coastal seas and how is human use of the sea influencing their existence?

To answer these questions, NIOZ, Wageningen IMARES and ECOMARE have established a foundation called ‘ZeeInZicht’. This initiative is sponsored by the Netherlands Oil Company NAM.

The goal of the ZeeInZicht foundation is to bring politicians, managers and the general public closer to the fascinating (sub-)marine world with its large variety of marine organisms like plankton, bottom-dwelling animals, fish, birds and sea-mammals.The first activity has been the creation of the web site ZeeInZicht, which is now also available in English as SeaOnScreen.
