On behalf of the scientific participants we thank the commander KTZ. L. ter
Haar, officers, engineers and crew of RV Tydeman for their excellent
co-operation throughout the cruise. The availability of the ship was made
possible by the Hydrographical Service of the Dutch Royal Navy whereas the
technical infrastructure was facilitated and operated by NIOZ-MRF.
The framework of the expedition was supported by the Netherlands Geosciences
Foundation (GOA) with a financial aid from the Netherlands Organisation for
Scientific Research (NWO) and additional funding of the Netherlands Institute
for Sea Research (NIOZ), University of Groningen (Department of Marine Biology)
and Bedford Institute of Oceanography. The expedition was only possible by the
skilful operation of the home institutes.
