Description of adult female: the adult female Calanus finmarchicus is characterised by 5 pairs of long swimming feet. The forebody consists of 6 segments. The urosome has 3 segments plus the telson. The first urosome segment is ventrally swollen, showing the genital opening as a dark spot. Large lipid sacs may occur, depending on nutritional conditions.
