C O D I S is the Centralized Oceanographic Data Information System, your internet access to the hydrographic data archived by the Data Management Group.

Explore CODIS

You can search for public data with this search wizard and define your own data subset to download. Since these are actual data you need a valid user account to access these data. You may however consult these pages without an account to determine the existence of specific data subsets. Unregistered users have access to all meta data.

NIOZ employees can obtain access to the measured data by subscribing for a personal user account. Not all data is accessible however. In the database reside special data sets that are not (yet) public. Only the chief scientist and the principal investigator of these private data sets can give individual users permission to access these data.

Others than NIOZ employees have access to all the meta data. However they can also obtain access to a limited subset of measured data (either public or protected) with the permission of the originator of this data (in most cases the chief scientist). For this they also need a personal user account.

Protected data can not be downloaded with this search wizard. To access them you should enter the Data Inventory from where you will be able to preview and download them provided you have appropriate account.

If you prefer you can also request for data by Email.
