First deployments

Near-midnight of 02 April 2013 Pelagia left its Motril-shore station. A fully loaded LOM was on the aft-deck almost ready for deployment. The photo shows the large technical staff preparing the last details on the morning of deployment. The entire overboard operation went smoothly. The LOM re-appeared freely at the surface some 12 minutes after its release from the bottom. This meant that the unrolling operation was as planned. Upon recovery, a long and careful operation to get all the naked glass spheres back on board, the data cable was undamaged and functioning normal. Test one was completed successfully!
