Temporary shore station Motril
NIOZ is back to its roots: as a temporary research station. That is how it all started around the inland Dutch Wadden Sea some 130 years ago. Since 02 April 2013, the Pelagia brought equipment to the harbour of Motril (E) for a duration of 10 days. In photo 1 we see the unloading and built-up of this brand-new temporary shore-station. Two LOMs are brought in, ready for deployment (see the two aluminium balls in their crates). Within hours this NIOZ/Nikhef-Motril camp was ready for use (evident in photo 2).
