Week 3: Training accomplished!

Glacier lightedThis week was a success in that the flow cytometer was finally working! Corina had so far spent most of her time going backwards and forwards with the manufacturer trouble shooting the various software errors that kept popping up, preventing the machine from running and a final protocol from being written.

Week 2: Some comments by Corina...

Rothera wildlifeHi, this week some comments by Corina. It is interesting to see how Tristan and Zoi are making a diary of their week while I type next to them this blog....so I hear phrases like: “How do you call the large tractor we have been trained on?; How many penguins did we see?; No Tristan, we didn’t do the boat theory training yesterday; Was the crane training (to bring the boat down onto the water) on Friday or on Saturday when we had that amazing dinner?; Would you say the weather was bad or really bad?; How much snow came down?”

Rothera wildlife (background!). These penguins we saw coming out of the Dirk Gerritz Lab one day this week!! They are so curious and checked out the entire base with the four of them.
