Embedding & Affiliations

NIOZ acquires research funds from national, international and european research funding agencies. Its research is embedded in various national, European and global marine research platforms, organisations and partnerships.  NWO

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) is the national research council in the Netherlands and has a budget of more than 500 million euros per year. NWO funds the research of more than 5000 scientists.

NWO falls under the responsibility of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. 
   
Marine Board European Science Foundation

The European Marine Board operates in association with the European Science Foundation and provides a pan-European platform for its member organisations to develop common priorities, to advance marine research and to bridge the gap between science and policy, in order to meet future marine science challenges and opportunities.
